Household Items and Furniture
Imagine moving into an apartment with nothing but the clothes on your back. How cold and unwelcoming that must feel! You can make a real difference in someone’s life by donating furniture and household items. There are two ways for you to provide household basics to your neighbors in need.
Please note: We are a 100% volunteer organization. Responses may take a few days. Pickups are dependent on volunteer availability and could take up to 3 weeks. Thanks for your patience!
Donate Your Gently Used Items
Consider donating gently used items from your home. Many of our clients are moving into small, walk-up units that are limited in space. Therefore, smaller furniture and household essentials are especially appreciated. Unfortunately, we cannot take all items, but please see the lists below or contact us to see if your furniture or household items can be used.
Smaller sized furniture needed for smaller apartments.
Upholstery must be pet-free, smoke-free with no tears or stains.
- Sofas
- Loveseats
- Living room chairs
- End tables
- Coffee tables
- TV tables
- Lamps (Table & Floor)
- Nightstands
- Dressers (Chest of drawers are especially welcomed; they work well in the small units.)
- Dining tables (Those that seat 2-4 are preferred.)
- Dining chairs

- Bakeware (cookie sheets/baking pans/potholders, etc.)
- Indoor trash cans
- Coffee makers
- Toasters & toaster ovens
- Microwave ovens (10 years old or less, due to safety reasons)
- Vacuums
- Bedsheets – Twin & Full only
- Blankets & Comforters – Twin & Full only
- Shower curtains & hooks
- Bath towels, hand towels and washcloths
